2011 Australian Outback National Gridiron Team
Australia has finished 8th in the 2011 World Championships
Australia has lost their 7th place final to host nation Austria 48-10 in front of a big crowd in Vienna. WR Ryan Dwyer was named Australia’s MVP for the game. Check out the full story and view all the stats.
Update 13th July: The Outback team took on Germany on Tuesday night. Our boys fought hard all day, scoring 3 touchdowns but were overpowered in the end 30-20. TE Locklan Gilbert was named MVP with 3 catches for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Update 11th July: The Outback team ran into a very well drilled Mexican team in their 2nd match of the 2011 World Championships and were defeated 65-0. Linebacker James McFadzean was named MVP for the Australian team with 3 solo tackles, 4 assists and a sack.
Update 9th July: The Outback team gave their all in the opening clash of the 2011 World Championships against the defending champion USA but were defeated 61-0. Congratulations to the entire team and coaching staff for giving their all until the final whistle. Fullback back Kieren Lansdell was named Australian MVP on 7 carries for 28 yards.

Australia, Germany, France, Mexico, Canada, Japan or South Korea, defending champion USA and Austria are all vying for the title of World Champion in Graz, Innsbruck and Vienna.
